Hotham Park is a MUST-SEE destination. Awarded WA Park of the Year by Australia Parks and Leisure in 2022, and it’s not hard to understand why. The Park was specially designed with something for everyone from small children, to teenagers, to adults.
Smaller children can play amongst nature at the adventure playground where parents can watch closely from the nearby seating or the deck outside the café. Teenagers and more daring children can explore their wild sides with the flying fox, pump track and skate park. Even mum and dad can get involved with a game of basketball on the half court, or trying out some of the outdoor gym equipment.
Hotham Park is fully equipped with undercover barbeques, picnic seating, plenty of open space, views of the river, and a café along the foreshore. Hotham Park is the perfect place for your next day trip, weekend away, or even spot to stop along the road to escape the busyness of your day to day life.
Children can swing, slide and climb amongst the play equipment, and those more daring can have a go on the flying fox.
Older kids and adults can test their skills and learn new tricks as they skate, bike and scoot through the twists and bends of the skate park and pump track. BMX riders can also use the pump track, which contains swooping, twisty bends, and hills.
Enjoy a game of basketball, or brush up on your own skills with a solo session. The half court is perfect for kids and adults who want to practice their basketball skills or just have some fun shooting hoops.
Take advantage of the outdoor gym equipment right along the river foreshore. You’re bound to have the best view for this workout.
Explore nature from Hotham River. Many native wildlife species congregate along the banks of the river, so keep an eye out and see how many you can spot on your Kayak or SUP.
Enjoy the natural beauty and purpose-built undercover BBQs while the kids are playing. Alternatively, delicious meals and drinks are available at the café, which has outdoor seats overlooking the adventure playground.
A picture perfect spot for a picnic where you can watch the river flow.
In the summer, you can cross the weir to the other side of the river to access walking trails and explore the wildlife along the river’s edge.
Take a walk or ride along one of the riverbank trails for a more quiet experience.
Some of the popular walking trails in Boddington begin at Hotham Park. Journey the 19km round trip and see the famous Tullis Bridge or walk 2km to Ranford pool and take a dip in the refreshing river.
